The owner of a private law practice in Encino, California, Slade Neighbors defends clients in a range of California workers' compensation cases. In addition to his membership in the American Bar Association and the Worker’s Compensation section of the California State Bar, Slade Neighbors is involved with the regional legal community as a member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.

One of the largest regional bar associations in California, the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA) has been serving a diverse membership base of attorneys since 1926. SFVBA also sponsors a number of programs to help meet the legal needs of the general public.

A key public service initiative of SFVBA, the Mediation Center of Los Angeles (MCLA) operates under the direction of the 501(c)3 nonprofit the Valley Bar Mediation Center. The educational programs of the MCLA center on teaching community members and groups to resolve disagreements in a peaceful and non-contentious manner.

As part of this mission, the MCLA also provides skilled professional mediators to help individuals and organizations throughout Greater Los Angeles resolve disputes without resorting to courtroom litigation. MCLA programs emphasize initiatives that assist underprivileged and low-income populations.
